PCCP: Pandemic Cover Crop Program

KEY INFO:

  • The USDA RMA recently announced its plans to continue the Pandemic Cover Crop Program (PCCP) for 2022.

  • The program provides a $5/ac discount on your federal crop insurance policy (MPCI) on acres where you planted a cover crop and then plant & insure a cash crop like corn or soybeans.

  • Must certify cover crop acres at FSA by March 15th, 2022

    • Contact your FSA office to do so.

MORE INFO:

  • In order to receive this discount, you must certify your cover crop acres at FSA by 3-15-22.

  • Must plant a qualifying cover crop during the 2022 crop year (ex. fall of 2021)

  • Cover crop fields (CLUs) reported to FSA must match the CLUs later reported and insured on your federal crop insurance policy (MPCI) to receive the benefit.
